Lee and Collier counties added over 250,000 more residents in the last decade. As new census figues come in, we see our lovely Lee now has about 620,000 residents and grew at more than 40% between 2000 and 2010. Some earlier prognostications had us between 700,000- 750,000 folks, but a little housing downturn circa 2007-2010 put those numbers way out of reach. Cape Coral has almost 155,000 residents and and it's growth of over 50% since 2000 is considered healthy, while most of Lee's growth is south and east of I-75. Diversity is flourishing with our Hispanic community more than doubling their percentage of population as a whole. Asian and black populations saw strong growth in Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs, San Carlos Park, along with Cape Coral, to showcase our area as versatile and vibrant. Should our continual ascent from the terrible housing debacle become more than a trend, we are positioned well to offer our best to all and everyone. Live in Lee.
