Our lovely newspaper in Fort Myers, Florida has indicated today myriads of storys on southwest Florida's points of interest. Besides the 51 free flights by the Lt. Gov's wife and son, the overnight lines to get tickets to see President Obama here on Tuesday, the New Yorker magazine calling Lehigh Acres a potentially new "slum" to a renewed market for local real estate agents. Let's chat about the last one.  So we are down about 11% in total number of real estate agents from last March. That means some people have gone back to trying to sell cars, food servers, day carers, and other hourly or comission based jobs. We had over $125 million worth of homes sold in January which is just short of the $126.8 million a year earlier. Talk of 4% mortgages, buyer and homeowner incentives, new tax breaks, and alot of inexpensive homes make now a great time to make a move on real estate. If we can diversify our job force, increase our demand destination exposure and appeal, keep the water supply clean, and the hurricanes away, we can begin the odyssey back to smiling faces.
